Brief : Leen Majed Al-Zainati, from the Gaza Strip, Palestine. Leen is an activist in defending human rights issues, gender equality and youth empowerment. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law in English from Al-Azhar University in Gaza, and currently works as a field officer for gender and education support at the UNESCO Palestine Office, where she mainly works on developing a gender-sensitive approach in the education sector in the Gaza Strip. Leen is also a trained lawyer, translator and legal researcher on gender, youth and disability issues. She aspires – and wants to be part of the change – to live in a just Palestinian society that prioritizes issues of promoting gender equality, and empowering youth, women and girls in all areas of life, in times of peace and conflict alike.
