Safir Training – Module 2: Economic Inequalities and Fiscal Justice in the Arab Region
In the second module of the Safir training program, participants examined the issue of economic inequalities and how they manifest in different forms across the Arab region. The training offered a space for young advocates, entrepreneurs, and researchers to reflect on the structural causes behind income and wealth disparities, including gender gaps, youth unemployment, and the impact of austerity measures.
Through a mix of interactive sessions and group reflections, the module encouraged participants to connect economic injustice to the broader fight for social rights and inclusive public policies. Youth voices played a central role in analyzing the limitations of current economic models and imagining fairer alternatives that prioritize equity and dignity.
This module builds on the work started in Module 1 on environmental justice and prepares the ground for Module 3, which focuses on governance and democracy.
