The Economic and Social Rights Situation in Lebanon

The Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND) submitted this written statement to the United Nations Human Rights Council as part of the 62nd session under Agenda Item 6 on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Lebanon. Officially circulated by the United Nations on 19 June 2026, the statement highlights the deterioration of economic and social rights in Lebanon amid the country's overlapping economic, financial, social, and humanitarian crises.

The statement also presents a set of recommendations calling for rights-based reforms, strengthened social protection, equitable access to essential services, and enhanced accountability in line with Lebanon's international human rights obligations.
