Safir Training Module 1: Environmental Challenges & Climate Justice

Safir Training – Module 1: Addressing Environmental Challenges and Climate Justice in the Arab Region

The first module of the Safir training program brought together a dynamic group of young advocacy trainees, social entrepreneurs, researchers, and French associative actors to examine the intersection of environmental challenges and climate justice in the Arab region.

Participants explored key topics such as:

  • The root causes of environmental degradation in the MENA region
  • Climate change impacts on marginalized communities
  • Climate justice as part of broader social and economic justice
  • Youth-led strategies and advocacy tools for climate resilience

The sessions highlighted the importance of climate justice as a framework to ensure fair and inclusive environmental policies, especially in regions facing systemic inequalities and political instability.

This module laid the foundation for building environmental awareness among Arab youth while equipping them with the knowledge and tools to take action.

Stay tuned as we move into Module 2, where the focus shifts to economic inequalities and fiscal justice in the region.
