As part of the 2026 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, ANND is organizing a virtual side event titled "SDG 6 Through a Rights-Based Lens: Advancing the Right to Water in the Arab Region."
The event builds on the findings of the Arab Watch Report 2025 on the Right to Water and Climate Change and contributes a civil society perspective to the HLPF review of SDG 6.
The discussion will present key findings from the Arab Watch Report 2025, assess progress toward SDG 6 in the Arab region, and explore policy recommendations for advancing the right to water through a human rights, climate justice, and social justice framework.
The event also aims to strengthen the links between HLPF 2026 discussions and broader regional and global advocacy on water justice, including preparations for the 2026 UN Water Conference.
